Maintenance Window
The change is staged, the rollback is written, and now you wait.
what's in this section
Small games and ambient scenes for the quiet part of a change window: waiting on a reboot, a replication, or a vendor bridge that will reconvene "in about ten minutes." Everything runs in your browser and works offline. Music is generated live with the Web Audio API. Nothing streams, and nothing downloads.
Lo-fi Wizard
An ASCII night shift. A wizard types through his change plan, sips coffee, pets his cat and checks the blinking racks behind him. Put it full screen and tune the radio to lo-fi, a fantasy tavern, an enchanted forest or 8-bit chiptune.
Start the shiftSpellcheck
An 8-bit typing game. Bugs, phishing emails, jammed printers, 404 ghosts and ransomware march on the wizard, each carrying an IT word. Type it to cast. Every fifth wave a legacy mainframe shows up. Tracks your WPM and accuracy.
Defend the datacenterDatacenter Quest
A text adventure. Production is down and you're on call. Play as a wizard, knight or rogue, pick a Windows, Linux, Cisco, Palo Alto, Python or classic on-call quest, and get past guardians who quiz you at every door. Type commands like it's 1980, or play with buttons.
Take the pageback to work
When the window closes: Pomodoro Timer for the next focus block, Scratchpad for the post-change notes, or Log Parser to make sure it really went as quietly as it looked.
